We’re reaching out to share exciting news about the future of Litchfield Hills Solar. Effective September 23, Litchfield Hills Solar has a new owner: Dave Noonan, who will continue to carry the torch.
After almost twenty years of success in the business, we’ve decided to step away from the solar industry. While we’ve enjoyed connecting with all of you to bring green energy to Litchfield County, we feel that this is a positive and timely change, and truly beneficial to our clients. Litchfield Hills Solar is ready to grow in order to continue to meet the needs of both new customers and old, and Dave is the perfect person to expand the business.
Dave brings many years of experience in the solar industry, and is dedicated to quality customer service and support. He's also well-versed in battery backup systems, about which many of you have expressed interest. As the new owner of Litchfield Hills Solar, Dave will continue to focus on our local community, and will be partnering with Earthlight Technologies, a well-respected Connecticut-based solar installation company, for service work, system expansion, battery installations, and more. Given Dave’s professionalism and EarthLight’s expertise, we are confident you are in excellent hands. Please rest assured that this transition will not disrupt any of your current services, or existing warranties.
We are truly grateful to all our clients over the years for your loyalty and support. Thanks for making Litchfield Hills Solar the strong, independent company it is, and will remain, under Dave’s stewardship.

LHS HISTORY:
After working together for years as sub-contractors for other solar companies including SolarWrights, SolarWorks, and Alteris, James LaPorta and Ray Furse formed Litchfield Hills Solar in 2009.
James LaPorta is the owner, system designer, and production manager of LHS, and oversees the entire installation process. He has an Electrical Engineering degree, is NABCEP trained, and has a CT-PV1 license. James and Sarah live in Sharon, CT.
Ray Furse (now retired) managed ZREC and USDA projects and serves as a consultant for LHS. He has trained with SunPower, Shuco and Veissmann, and regularly presents workshops on the costs and benefits of Solar PV. He established the Warren Clean Energy Task Force, and serves on the board of directors of Solar Connecticut and the NW Conservation District. Ray and Maryellen live in Warren, CT.
Chris Harrington & Dennis Chocholka of South 7 Electric in Kent, Connecticut are the chief electricians for Litchfield Hills Solar. They have installed over 200 PV systems with LHS.
Sarah Getz handles sales, and coordinates the paperwork flow for residential LHS projects including permitting, CT Green Bank, and Eversource interconnect applications.
Ronnie Lizana of Chimney Rock Construction assists with installations for LHS, and has worked with Ray and James on over 150 PV systems. Ronnie lives in Cornwall, CT.
